Matt is originally from Baltimore, Maryland but, in 2014, he found his true home in Roseburg, Oregon. In 2019 he decided on a career change from a biologist to a licensed real estate broker with Oregon Life Homes, and it was one of the best career choices he could have made. Matt is hard working, motivated, caring and he will always go that extra mile for his clients. Most importantly, he has become a real estate broker in order to help people find their homes here as well. My husband and I are moving from Michigan to Oregon to retire. We spoke once on the phone and met up in early October in Oregon. He helped us find our retirement home. Let me start with if you are just trying to settle and buy a house that “looks” like it will work, Matt may not be your agent. Matt truly cares and wants to make sure you end up buying a house that fits your family, needs and wants.
After two agents that were not hearing what I was looking for and pushing properties that we not in line with my criteria, I went to google and found Matt. On our first call he asked many questions that were not asked by the others. Our first showing I thought I wanted to buy, and Matt stopped me mid showing and said, “this house is not for you, let’s see what else I can find for you”. At that time, I knew I had met an agent that had my best interest in mind. As I did not live in the area, Matt would walk a new listing and send me a comprehensive video with the good, bad and ugly. I am not the easiest person to deal with as most in this stressful situation. But Matt kept me in line and made sure I was not settling. We went through 3 deals that fell through for various reasons and not once did Matt faulter and give up.
Matt scheduled all my inspections, worked with a power company to have the service reconnected prior to inspection. Matt showed up to all 4 different inspections, some of which I could not be present. Matt questioned my mortgage broker before signing to make sure everything was on the straight and narrow. During signing he was present to make sure I did not have any questions.
If you want a fast talking, quick to place you in a house because it is a good deal, Matt is not your agent. If you want someone that will make sure you are buying a house based on your needs and desires, he is your agent. I honestly cannot say how grateful I am to have had such a person walk me through a truly stressful situation. I would Recommend Matt to my family and closest friends with no hesitation at all.
